in each and every one of us

The archaeological site at Nippur was manned by a diverse group with affiliations to universities all over the globe. When the realization set in and attention was focused on the mounds of debris that had been carelessly dumped in various locations around Nippur, fragments were collected and whisked off to different countries for examination. The small clay fragments had to be carefully pieced together to be read and, often, missing pieces were in collections of other museums and universities. Nevertheless, great progress was being made in assembling several great works that were found duplicated and almost complete. But the nature and content of what was being translated was disturbing.

Ashurbanipal had assembled and translated literature from his own antiquity. How far back in time was "very old" to a king who lived 3000 years ago? Conservative estimates dated many of the written epics to a time before writing, perhaps before 10,000 BC, since they appear to have been composed in a rhythmic verse, to make them easy to memorize. The library thus gives a unique view into man's past. But the library had many surprises.

For over a millennium, about 5000 years ago, there was one dominant and unchanging belief in what we would today call a religion. In this ancient time religion and culture were identical. The leaders and rulers of men were described as being in intimate contact with the "gods," who were collectively known as Anunaki. The growing dictionary of words and meanings that was being compiled by the translations of the Nippur fragments quickly hinted to something extraordinary. That the ancient "gods" took their name from "Anu," meaning heaven, and "ki," which means earth. Literally, they were "those who came from heaven to earth."

A surprising number of poems, stories and historical records told a clear story, without the usual symbolism and metaphoric confusion. The facts were there, on the clay tablets, for everyone to read. But, strangely enough, the translation was conducted in an extremely low-profile manner. Even today, when one thinks of an "ancient" culture, the Egyptians --not the Mesopotamians-- received the interest. The wealth of details and the coherent story of the cuneiform library from Nippur is undoubtedly the most important archaeological discovery ever made, yet it has been successfully buried and is hidden from the public. Why?

Here is what you have not been told. A particular work, called the Enumma Elish, describes the formation of our solar system, from a time when it was much different than it is today. This young system had the earth (called Tiamut) and the moon, as well as a number of our sister planets. The epic tells of a rogue planet which enters the system and disrupts gravity, causing one planet to be pulverized and to form the asteroid belt, while another planet is thrown into an elliptical orbit with a solar year, called a "shar," equal to about 3600 earth years. This particular epic was believed to have been a basic text that was memorized and copied. It has since been found in other excavated sites in Iraq.

A work called the Atra Hasis is perhaps the most shocking. This text describes the Anunaki as originating on this elliptical orbiting planet, called Nibiru. The planet is apparently suffering from some atmospheric degeneration and has sent a team of explorers to Earth in search of a particular metal -- gold. The gold is mined by the "Igigi" who are lower forms of the Anunaki. The Atra Hasis begins where these Igigi are complaining about the difficulties and fatigue that they are having with this physically demanding task.

When the gods instead of man
Did the work, bore the loads,
The gods' load was too great,
The work too hard, the trouble too much,
The great Anunnaki made the Igigi
Carry the workload sevenfold.

When the Igigi asked for relief from their work the leaders of the expedition, An (the father figure and ultimate leader), and his two sons, Enki and Enlil, held a counsel meeting. The text describes this event as if an impending mutiny was possible, but Enki has a brilliant suggestion.

Why are we blaming them?
Their work was too hard, their trouble was too much.
Every day the earth resounded.
The warning signal was loud enough, we kept hearing the noise.
There is [.-pieces missing- ]
Ninhursag the womb-goddess is present
Let her create a mortal man
So that he may bear the yoke
So that he may bear the yoke, the work of Enlil,
Let man bear the load of the gods!

Belet-ili the womb-goddess is present,
Let the womb-goddess create offspring,
And let man bear the load of the gods!"

The story continues with the female gender Anunaki, Ninhursag, creating an altered hybrid by using material from one of the Anunaki and of an earth "beast," primitive man. The Anunaki now had an intelligent worker to do their mining. Soon, these prototype humans ("A-dam" means something like "duplicated" plus "human") were being specifically designed for certain tasks, including a version with small, delicate features that was used as a house servant by the Anunaki.

The Atra Hasis continues to explain that it was this "delicate type," with features more resembling the Anunaki themselves, that attracted the Anunaki to mate with them. And it was these "giants on earth" that were remembered in the book of Genesis.

The book of Genesis has more hints to this earlier epic. Ninhursag, who created the first "smarter humans" was celebrated by the Anunaki and she was given the title of "Nin-ti," or "Lady of life." Since early Hebrew has multiple meanings for the phrase "ti," meaning both "rib" and "life," the creation of Eve by Nin-ti yielded to the errant story of the first woman being created by Adam's rib (hence "the lady of the rib").

So where is the devil while all this is going on?

Once we’ve finished, you then question what could be possible and what isn’t possible for yourself. Simple theory based on facts.

I’m not and never have been a religious person but I'm also fascinated by the subject and truly believe in its benefits to the human life- it's been scientifically proved that religious people live longer, happier and healthier lives. Over the years I’ve collected knowledge on most of the major religions; yet one thing that has puzzled me for a long time is why different religions choose to kill each other over their beliefs, which mostly have the same roots?

I understand that their beliefs are strong but does this give any man the right to decide if any fellow man, woman or child should live or die- just because they've ‘insulted’ the religion or does not believe in the same? Ask yourself: Why do people don’t seem spare a thought for the non religious people in this world? Why do they not spare a thought for the people in this world who may in fact find religion and belief in gods insulting in itself (No offense intended: remember I am not trying to insult any religion- I truly believe in its benefits, over the future I will show you how it works). Many people could also view religious people as being extremely narrow minded- Never question and will not believe or contemplate anything apart from the religious text they’ve read since they were a child. Ask yourself honestly: Where would we today be had we not had to accept science in our modern day world because it cannot prove its religion's beliefs? Life would not be so 'perfect' now, would it?

If religion teaches that it’s wrong to kill then why does the world continue to do so ‘In the name of.......’?! The majority of the western worlds these days do not strongly believe in religion yet it’s constantly forced into their lives. The undeniable fact of this matter is that more people have died throughout history as a result of religion than pretty much everything else; if religion is such a good thing then why is everyone killing or dying because of it?

If the world tolerates what you believe in, is it not time for you to start tolerating what other people believe in and stop killing each other because of it- Everyone is entitled to believe in what they want to believe in- Ask yourself: If God loves all his children and we are all created by God, then why does he make exceptions for non believers- we’re all his children after all aren’t we?!

Based on the evidence I’ve collected that I'm going to publish over the coming future, when I'm finished I'm going to tell an alternate, wacky story of how life began. When reading thisrnate story, compare it to the claims made in your religious texts. The story is not all my beliefs, just an alternate story of creation based around the evidence we’ve already seen.

The alternative story is not a solid theory, simply a new, but equally plausible hypothesis of how we became what we are based on the evidence we already have.

WAS THERE LIFE BEFORE ADAM?

Many Christians today believe as an article of faith that the Bible teaches
the earth was created 6,000 years ago. They dispute all the evidence of
geology, paleontology and radiometric dating techniques. They argue that
such evidence is invalid, grossly misunderstood, and misinterpreted. Some
Neo-Creationists claim that all the earth's strata was due to the Noachian
deluge, or the original process of Creation. They claim all Creation took
place during a six day period approximately 6,000 years ago. What is the
truth?


The Bible is a reliable historical witness. However, the Bible nowhere says Creation occurred 6,000 years ago. Nor does it teach that the earth is flat, although Medieval theologians often assumed so and threatened anyone who would teach otherwise with excommunication and torture. The Middle Ages were a sad time in theological history. The supposedly enlightened Church pressured scientists such as Bruno and Galileo with the threat of bodily harm if they chose to believe the earth revolved around the sun.

Biologist George Simpson was right when he observed, "As a matter of fact, most of the dogmatic religions have exhibited a perverse talent for taking the WRONG SIDE on the most important concepts of the material universe" (George Gaylord Simpson, This View of Life, p. 214).

Irrational Theology

Catholic theologians made a great mistake in the Middle Ages. They assumed the Scriptures taught things about the material universe which were, in fact, false interpretations or assumptions. Perhaps for the masses, it was enough to listen to and believe dogmas with the stamped sanction of "Church authority." But for THINKING men, "Renaissance Man," for scientists who wished us to "prove all things," as the Scriptures themselves tell us to do (I Thessalonians 5:21), mere recitation of Church authority or tradition was not enough.

One author characterizes the problem this way: "The emotionally precious view of earth's centrality in a fixed, unchanging universe was crystallized by Ptolemy in the second century A.D., and then taken over by the Christian (i.e., Catholic) Church. What had been ancient pagan punishments for contradicting pagan theology became orthodox Christian punishments for questioning orthodox Christian dogma. Despite man's continued secret probing, fourteen centuries brought no serious challenger" (Robert Gorney, The Human Agenda, p. 27).

In 1543 Copernicus published his theory of a heliocentric solar system. Although he was a Catholic priest, his theory met with strong opposition from the established Church. In 1600 Giordano Bruno, who endorsed Copernicus' theory, was burned alive at the stake in Rome for his stubborn heretical beliefs, among which was the heliocentric solar system!

Galileo Galilei (More on this guy another time) observed in 1604 that Copernicus had been right. Through the telescope, he observed that the earth and other planets DO revolve around the sun.

But the clerics of that day did not agree. Martin Luther lambasted the heliocentric or sun-centered solar system. He reasoned that since Joshua had commanded the sun to stand still, it must have been the sun which was moving around the earth. One archbishop of the Catholic Church lampooned the followers of Galileo with a Scriptural pun: "Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into the heavens?" he asked, quoting Acts 1:11 in the New Testament.

During the Inquisition, the Catholic Church resisted the pressures of rational thinking men with the pronouncement: "If earth is a planet, and only one among several planets, it cannot be that any such great things have been done specially for it as Christian doctrine teaches. If there are other planets, since God makes nothing in vain, they must be inhabited; but how can their inhabitants be descended from Adam? How can they trace their origin to Noah's ark? How can they have been redeemed by the Saviour?" (Ibid., p. 28).

Galileo's theory was branded by the Church as "of all heresies the most abominable, the most pernicious, the most scandalous."

During the Middle Ages when ecclesiastical authority reigned supreme, the science of geology was attacked as "a dark art," as "infernal artillery," and as "calculated to tear up in the public mind every remaining attachment to Christianity" (P. 53). When scientists accumulated data to show the earth is far older than Archbishop Ussher's date of 4004 B.C., they were vigorously assailed as "infidels," as "atheists," and "heretics."

Archbishop Ussher had concluded from his studies of the Bible that Creation must have been October 23, 4004 B.C. When fossil evidence was unearthed to indicate the earth was far older than that, the fossils were dismissed by some Church leaders as deliberate deceptions of the devil!

Unfortunately, some of this Medieval thinking still exists, today. Galileo, Copernicus, Kepler, Newton -- these men were willing to challenge the dogmas of their day. They were called buffoons, they were labeled heretics, they were held up to shame and contempt by ecclesiastical authorities. But they advanced the cause of TRUTH.

Today, too, we must at times take up shield and sword of the mind and spirit and CHALLENGE the Goliaths of modern dogma and conventional orthodoxy.

We must remember the impassioned words of Oliver Cromwell, ruler of England centuries ago, when he said: "I beseech you, in the bowels of Christ, think it possible you may be mistaken."
